Maison Gisèle Pomerleau offers 20 safe, fully furnished transitional housing units. Our goal is to provide women with a comfortable environment in which to regain control over their lives. With a maximum duration of 11 months, housing is dedicated to women who are victims of domestic violence, with or without children.
Much more than just a place to stay: each woman benefits from the support of a dedicated worker who helps her define and achieve her life goals.
Our Accommodation Units
We offer units in a variety of configurations: studio, 5 ½ and 6 ½. The unit best suited to your needs and those of your children (if applicable) will be selected. All our units are furnished and equipped with basic amenities.
Our Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for housing, a referral from another organization is required (first-stage housing, CIUSSS, social worker, etc.). Women admitted to the Maison Gisèle Pomerleau must also meet the following criteria:
Be 18 years of age or older and living in a situation of post-separation domestic violence
Have initiated an intervention process related to post-separation violence
Looking for safe transitional housing
Have the financial capacity to assume the cost of housing
Personalized assistance with administrative formalities
Getting out of a situation of domestic violence often means having to rebuild your life. Our team of counsellors can help you with administrative, legal, medical and other formalities. We respect your choices and support you on your path to autonomy.
The length of the stay varies from a few weeks to 11 months, depending on each woman's needs. At the end of your stay, our caregivers provide personalized, confidential follow-up. You can count on our support for as long as you need it, on your journey towards independence.
Awareness-raising activities and conferences
Our counsellors run awareness-raising activities for adults and teenagers. It's essential to inform all age groups about the impact of violence, its cycle and warning signs. Our conferences and awareness-raising activities take place in various public places and schools in the region.
Telephone support
We offer telephone support to any woman wondering about her situation. Even if you don't live at the Maison Gisèle Pomerleau, don't hesitate to contact us. Our telephone support line is available Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed between noon and 1 p.m.). We'll answer your questions and refer you to the appropriate resources, in complete confidentiality.
